Vectra Bank is dedicated to providing our customers with a variety of financial solutions that meet their specific needs. We’re committed to maintaining the flexibility and convenience of your accounts with us and we’re pleased to offer you several overdraft protection options.

These options provide you with the peace of mind that your purchases could be covered even if you have insufficient funds in your primary personal or business checking accounts.

Your Overdraft Protection Choices

  1. ATM/DEBIT CARD COURTESY APPROVAL
Courtesy Approval is a service that allows Vectra Bank to consider paying ATM and one-time debit card transactions that may cause an overdraft due to lack of funds in your account. An Insufficient Funds Fee of $35 is charged for each transaction that Vectra Bank approves. Courtesy Approval works with, and as a backup to, your other overdraft coverage services.

  2. CHECK RESERVE
Check Reserve is a line of credit that’s attached to your checking account to cover unexpected overdrafts. Check Reserve requires credit approval and interest accrues on any outstanding balances, however there is no fee if the line is not used. When the line is used, a small fee of $5.00 per transfer will be charged and, in most cases, will be lower than those charged for an overdraft or return item.

  3. ACCOUNT OVERDRAFT PROTECTION
Account Overdraft Protection links your checking account to other deposit accounts such as your checking, money market or savings account, and funds are automatically transferred to cover an overdraft. A small fee of $5.00 per transfer will be charged and, in most cases, will be lower than those charged for an overdraft or return item.

What You Need To Know About Overdrafts and Overdraft Fees

An overdraft occurs when you do not have enough money in your account to pay a transaction.

Standard Overdraft Practices: As a courtesy, from time to time, we may pay check, ACH, and automatic bill pay transactions that will cause an overdraft on your account. These transactions may be paid at our discretion, which means that we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. We will not authorize ATM and one time debit card transactions if they will cause an overdraft, unless you consent for us to do so by confirming your participation in the ATM/Debit Card Courtesy Approval program. If you do not give your consent, Vectra Bank will decline to authorize any ATM or one–time debit card transactions that will cause an overdraft on your account.

If an item is presented against insufficient funds, you may incur the following charges:

  • If the account is overdrawn $10.00 or less, you will not be assessed an insufficient funds fee. If the account is overdrawn more than $10.00, you will be assessed a $35.00 fee per item, up to a maximum of five (5) fees per business day.
  • We will charge an additional $5 per day overdraft service fee if your account is overdrawn more than $10 for five (5) or more consecutive days. A maximum of 30 daily overdraft service fees may be charged per overdraft occurrence.

OVERDRAFT PROTECTION PLANS: We also offer overdraft protection plans, which are handled separately from the above general overdraft practices and which may be less expensive for you such as:

  • Check Reserve: A link to a credit account for overdraft protection
  • Account Overdraft Protection: A transfer from a linked eligible deposit account.
