Vectra Bank, Rubin Brown and Sherman & Howard, hosted the Buesiness for breakfast event Digital Transformation where we sifted through the jargon and uncover tangible examples of game-changing innovation with guest speaker, Dan Domagala.
Dan started his IT career around the same time that Alexander Graham Bell patented the telephone. OK, maybe not that long. Dan's dealt with telex machines, 80-character punch cards, magnetic tapes, floppy disks (remember those?), relational databases, client-server applications, cloud hosting, advanced analytics, and perhaps most daunting of all -- managing other technology people.
Presently, Dan directs the implementation and delivery of technical services for the Denver Botanic Gardens, providing a transformative experience for the organizations' million plus annual visitors. Previously, he was the Chief Information Officer at the Colorado Department of Education. Dan has worked in automotive, engineering, government, oil & gas, hospitality, consulting, and perhaps a few other industries he doesn't remember. Upon reflection, his most difficult job thus far has been Little League Umpire.
