Meet Domitila Montoya. Domitila is the Branch Manager at Vectra Bank’s new Belleview Station branch, and previously managed the Landmark branch. Her main responsibilities include supporting her team to help them uncover and meet the financial needs of the community while providing excellent customer service. She also supports, trains and coaches her team to provide financial solutions to clients and achieve their professional goals. Domitila enjoys being involved in the community, and finds it rewarding when employees and clients share success stories and refer to their family and friends.

Domitila’s background is in accounting, and it was one of her accounting teachers that recommended she look into a career in banking. She went to a job fair where the teacher’s friend was recruiting, and was hired on the spot. She found that she loves banking and seeing others achieve their financial goals.

 

How long have you been at Vectra Bank and how long in the banking industry?

I have been at Vectra for 5 years, and in the banking industry since 2004.

 

What do you love about working at Vectra?

I love that Vectra structures branch responsibilities to be completed as a team. This is something that is hard to find at other banks where the bankers compete against each other, and this differentiates Vectra from other banking institutions. Vectra Bank is committed to the education and success of it’s employees. I enjoy having the connection with the leadership team and my colleagues to all work together.

I also appreciate that Vectra recognized my potential. I originally interviewed for a Relationship Banker role, but was told I was overqualified and offered a Branch Manager position instead!

 

What sets you apart from others?

My passion for helping my community, especially the Latin community. I am committed to educating others on what I know about banking, and feel it is my responsibility to help others make smart financial decisions.

 

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Spending time with family. I have two boys and I enjoy spending time with them on all their activities and raising them to be positive members of the community.

 

If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?

I would like to be able to help others and give them opportunities to overcome adversity. I get to hear a lot of stories from customers, and I wish I had the power to change their circumstances when I can.
