Mobile Banking Tools
Mobile banking tools are banking services you can access on a mobile device, such as your smart phone. Banking apps and mobile websites have been around for years, but financial institutions and their web development partners have been making these tools more sophisticated and “smarter”. Now, there’s little you can’t do on a banking app or website.
What Can You Do With Mobile Banking Tools?
Here are some banking actions you can perform with mobile banking:
Pay for Purchases
Did you forget your debit card? Did your last ten-dollar bill fall out of your pocket? Or maybe you just want to limit all the things you have to carry. Then consider paying for things with your mobile smart device.
Digital payment options, such as Apple Pay® and Google Pay®, can store a digital version of your bank card. These are contactless payments you can make using near-field communication, just as you don’t have to physically make contact with the reader when “tapping” with your credit or debit card. The app deducts the funds from your account just like when you use your card.
Transfer Funds and Pay Bills
Want to move money from your checking account to your savings account? You probably have to go into a branch to do that, right? Nope! You can easily transfer money between accounts or even to accounts at another financial institution. You can also pay your credit card bill or other bills to new or existing payees.
Deposit Checks
OK, you surely must have to visit a branch to deposit a check, right? No, again! Mobile banking services are now so smart you can deposit money from a physical check into your account. You just take a photo of the check with your device and submit it through the app. You can do this at any time, but if you deposit a check after normal banking hours, you may have to wait a while for your money to appear in your account.
Check Your Balance and Statements
With mobile banking, you can check your balance and look at statements, notices and tax documents.
Make Travel Plans
You can book a hotel, a flight and travel insurance on your phone. So why not take care of banking travel tasks, too? You can notify your bank of upcoming travel plans so there are no issues when you start spending money in a different country.
